On Kurt i Kuvös

Kurt in Incubator (KiK) was established in April 1980 in a basement room of Skänninge, in the middle of the conservative east flat land. Ola 14 year and Staffan and Thomas both 13 year had up to then amused themselves with pinball or point the finger of scorn at the raggare who travelled to the drag racing on Mantorp Park 10 km from Skänninge. With inspiration from The Damned, TT Reuter and Devo the music changed everything for the three mates. The repetitions continued seven days per week and in December 1980 the first show on the high school in Skänninge was performed on stage. The trio was completely done for the music and started a Fanzine (Sub) but also a record company (Really Fast) was established, mainly by Staffan.

More than 30 concerts on stage KiK managed to do to the decomposition 1984 when the band also had a fourth member, Patrik from the passed away Nasty Boys. Many concerts were in the neighbourhood (Linköping, Mjölby, Boxholm) but also Stockholm, Blekinge and Dalarna were places which were covered. One of its best concerts was on a mastodon concert on "Rockers" in Gothenburg 1981. Together with among others Anticimex and Skitslickers they blow the cocks' crests of the audience, only 14 and 15 year old.

On vinyl KiK were on Really Fast Vol 1 and on the split-LP "Our Free Country" (Vårt Fria Land) together with Huvudtvätt (Headwash).

The name? Yes, in the wake of KSMB band names that were easy to abbreviate modern, any other meaning didn't exist. Kurt in Incubator statues intelligent, scooped out and self-willed punk rock.
