Yapp. Sometime it did happen and sometime the history shall be written. And it was then, so why not now?
Can also mention that this text was written free from the memory, 450 km from my clip books and photo albums so error do certainly exist. Write and complain.
1981-1990
In the beginning there was - Acid Spleen. At the time for the turn of the year 1981-1982 we, a gang boys in the 14 year age - of course inspired by the punk wave - got the idea to form a band. Because it is (Good Heavens) twenty years since then now, and all is outlawed, it can be mentioned that myself scribbled "Assed Splin" on a number of bus seats before some friendly soul told me how the name of our band was spelled.
Acid Spleen consisted of Backswing on voice, Wallan and me on guitar, Griph on bass and Mr Falkevall on drums. We were all absolute beginners on our instruments and rehearsed loudly the whole afternoons, at least five hours four days a week, in Wallan's parents' house living room (!). All honour to the parents tolerance. To try to talk over a glass of milk a paper wall from continuos repeated untuned punk beginners sound must in reality have been a trial.
Well, we made well then two plays on stage, the most memorable was probably that in the Linköping shop Musikcentralen's basement: Linköpingsrock-82. We were completely scared. Wallan didn't dare to play a single guitar solo but stand the whole concert (which is stored on video!) with the back to the audience and accompany. Falkevall never touched the bass drum nor the hi-hat. The later because the risk to smash himself on the knuckles.
Musically the song "Zip" must be mentioned, some kind of punk with the excellent refrain "Zip Zip what a bloody shop / Zip Zip what a bloody shop", which we carried during all years with Lenny's, written during the Acid Spleed time.
Then I don't remember exactly all turns, but the spring -83 Lenny's boys' choir, a crew and name changed band for first time entered stage.
In the intermediate period I was dismissed as guitarist in favour of Beckman who was Wallan's old c-mate (class-mate). I was allowed to come back as singer and Griph talked about some boy in class seven who could play drums. He showed to be named (and is still named) Thomas Löfholm and I remember how I was fascinated by he really lifted his rump slightly from the drum stool every time he hit the crashzymbal. Simply to reach it.
So there we were, Lenny's Boys' choir. Wallan, Beckman, I, Griph and Thomas. We realized that we all were on the same high school (Ånestad), that we weren't a boys' choir, and that we have a common denominator in the out of tune music teacher Lennart. Lenny's boys' choir was consequently a moderate good, doubtfully appreciated but logical band name. It was kept. It was in the time when youth recreation centres blossom and you poged to Attentat, Slobobans Undergång and KSMB on Arbis, which stage in some way was the dreams' goal...
In the beginning we played at the rock galas that were regularly arranged in Ånestad- and Österberga school assembly halls. Sometime Anton H (the whole Linköping rock daddy during the 80's) looked at Ånestad and wrote a extremely positive article in Corren. The memory can waver but I will remind myself that it was the band Whoops (with mentioned Anton on drums) who called us and offered us to play before them as our first gig on Arbis. Then things started to roll on some way by itself. The rumour got abroad and we became "a name" and pretty soon we had played in all possible stages in Linköping. From Café Big Bang (do you remember it ??) to party of gang of youths who ride about in cars at the university area ....
Members where exchanged. Wallan and Beckman out and Kentha in (and I hang the guitar on me again, the crew that can be enjoyed here on the web). After Kentha Roger the Charles came at the same time we engaged Jovnas on Keyboard. And so Roger disappeared and Fritte came. Now we have reached -86. Fritte disappeared also and at the very end - and perhaps most powerful - in guitar sense so Stellan came. The crazy fellow. Also to be mentioned that on a short sojourn appeared as guest Berta. We fight a duel with guitars in front of fifteen surprised youth recreation centre visitors in Ryd. Björna and Micke Outland were also and test played a short time but it didn't become anything.
Most popular we were around -87-88. We won basic examination of the first performance (yes exactly -87) of the recreation rock contest Rockkarusellen (but unplaced in the final) and got the benefit to play on AC/DC's old PA-system during Rock-SM -88. Then you can (should) discuss if rock band contests say anything on a band's quality, but it was much such at that time, and it was fun to be there.
Have to mention Videocafét also. Damned what fun. I think we played there five times during -88 (bloody double moral somebody says when we stand there and shouted about Göthes Borg...) and it was crowded every Thursday.
But is was slow to come outside Linköping. We sent demo tapes to all possible arrangers but got much nothing. Year -89 I lived a half year in Stockholm and finally managed to get a gig on Cityhall with ad in the big city newspaper. Ujuj. Shit fun play (even if we were competed by Bon Jovi on Hovet, some audience went there instead...) and things could happen if we had continued.
But we went home, talked and Stellan should move from Limpan and we
closed the whole package. It's a pity. Today we had been Lenny's old men's
choir.

What did happen then?
Thomas has been musically active and is it still. TC-4 and Charlotte
the Harlot was the name of the gangs for a while and nowadays he drums
in Blus Cats . Not to forget Höj
Ribban, perhaps the logically continuation of the Lenny's Thomas and I
played in some year directly after Lenny's.
Beckman is also pop guitar active in Linköping.
Always cheerful Stellan is data man in Tjockhult.
Jovnas, who lives in Göteborg, I hear pretty often, and we became
nostalgic on how good we were.
Griph I meet when he is out and work but he doesn't play anything now.
He bass monkied also a while in TC4.
What Wallan, Roger and Fritte do, I don't know.
Kentha sits at home and writes songs.
Myself I went from Lenny's to Höj Ribban (yes, with Thomas then).
Then we had some jazz joke folk high school named Mera Bomber. Really home
after Lenny's I was eventually as guitarist in Fehtara, a project worth
its own history that does not have space here. Nowadays I reluctantly admit
that he guitars most collect dust.
Demography
Not bad Urinated, which to its whole exist here on Bosse's website was our first tape and the only we manufactured and sold. You remember the studio visit a Saturday-Sunday -84. In a parents' house in Wheelsbridge town sat Bosse with 90 cm reverb in a potato basement. Kentha sat in a wardrobe and made guitar clips and the drums rigged up in living room. Fantastic. The song Helena was the hit of the tape. The whole lyrics except the refrain were improvised at each event. Little fun that Mr Bo here on the net has taken pains to write the text... Some boys in the Mjölby band Tages Titthål actually recorded a syntp(l)op cover version of Helena.
1985 we recorded three (and a half) songs at Lennart in Studio AVO. The songs were A bloody eye, The old, BSS? and thirty seconds Lenny's Boogie. BSS? was (is) a bloody good hard song but otherwise I think we were on way to a misdirected influence situation, it should be little "fine" and the tape has been deteriorated pretty hard by age.
1987 we planned to win the final of the Rockkarusell and release a single. It didn't work but we went into the studio again. On the same tape was Göthes borg, Stopp Stopp Stanna (I Lagens Namn), Heja Svenne Röjde I Diket (Ch. III) and Siewert Bequerel. Göthes Borg released on the collection vinyl Projekt 12. Only good songs but also here noticed afterwards that it was 80's and the excellent sound enginer Tommy Ljunggren controlled knobs - with our happy shouts - in a round little buzz off not at all evil sound. Myself I like Heja Svenne..., the last part of the trilogy about Sven, with a bloody lot of guitar and good energy (ös).
1989 we recorded our best tape, that also became our last. Axewitch-Micke and -Matte controlled the sound. Dahl's speech, Rainbow's end, Hangover ballad, Crap Rap, Black white thoughts and War on TV were recorded. Sure it smell 80's on this tape too but it feels like we growed into the ambitions we had during a couple of years and the crew with Stellan on guitar was also our instrumentally most powerful. War on TV is the best song I have participated in to create and Crap Rap was really the first hard Swedish language crossover rap. Dahl's speech fell little outside the the frame, a somewhat strained "Ordered work" to the collection vinyl record Music for Environment.
